He was born in Wood County on July 27, 1931 to the late Francis and Kate Banks Weems. He was a lifetime resident of Winnsboro, self-employed, and a member of Coldwater Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by son, Terry Weems; grandson, Jeremiah Weems; four brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Vernice Weems of Winnsboro; sons, Jackie Weems and Kenny Weems of Winnsboro; daughter Vickie Brenton of Winnsboro; sister, Mary Lou Martin of Lake Worth; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. [Note: his tombstone has the incorrect birth year engraved.]
