Bio

John Morgan Harlow was born in Hickory County, Missouri, December 29, 1854, and raised in Illinois. He became a member of the Missionary Baptist church at the age of 16, and for several years lived a consistent member of the same. In 1873 he came to Texas, and the following year was married to Anice Joy. She was a faithful member of the church of Christ, and soon taught him the way of the Lord. He obeyed the Gospel in 1887, and began preaching soon after his baptism. He labored as an evangelist for several years, but for the past three years has given his entire time to his home congregation--Cross Plains, Tex. The church there is in splendid condition. He will soon be in the field again doing the work of an evangelist. He has four children--the three oldest are married and members of the church. The oldest son is an active worker in the public work of the church. --- Gospel Preachers Who Blazed the Trail , p. 80.
