Mrs. Lela Bates Is Called Home Mrs. Lelia Bates died at 5 o clock Sunday afternoon at her residence on Somerville Route No. 2. Mrs Bates was forty years of age and was well known and greatly loved. Deceased is survived by her husband, W. T. Bates , two sons and two daughters, her father, W. A. Miles , two sisters and two brothers. The funeral will be conducted at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Chapel Hill cemetery with interment at the same place, Priest directing funeral arrangements. Miles and Sarah McDaniel Miles. She married William Thomas "Tobe" Bates . Her siblings included; John R. Miles, Wylie C. Miles , Sorrella Miles and James Miles.
