Texas Death Certificate #42010, Ellen Monroe Paine, shows buried in Midlothian Cemetery. d/o H. M. & Nancy Burleson. Born into the pioneer Ellis County, Texas Burleson family, Ellen was the third child of 12 Burleson children of 6 girls and 6 boys. Her brother was Henry Burleson, founder of the Burleson Honey Company. Ellen Paine passed away August 13, 1957 in the home of her son, Jonathan Wade Paine, in Harlingen, Texas...but was buried in Midlothian, Texas as were an infant child and her husband. Devoted pastor wife to Primitive Baptist minister, Elder S. A. Paine, who passed away at the young age of 36 due to typhoid fever, leaving her with young children to rear. She was known to be a staunch defender of the Primitive (or Old School ) beliefs. She was preceded in death by not only her preacher husband, but also her son, Elder S. A. Paine, Jr, who helped constitute the Dallas Primitive Baptist Church and served as pastor there til his death at age 51 from a brain tumor that first manifested when he collapsed while preaching, and died within a year. In addition to her parents and infant and husband, who preceded her in death, also many of her siblings.
