OBITUARY- Times Post, Houston, MS, Oct. 1, 1959 Funeral services for James Guy Anderson, 82, a lifelong resident of Chickasaw County, who died at 7:30 am, Saturday in West Point, MS at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. E. Wooldridge, were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 pm from the Elzey Methodist Church in Calhoun County. The Rev. Doc Jeter and the Rev. Flenoy Clark officiated. Interment was in the Elzey Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge. Active pallbearers were Jame Everett Anderson, Douglas Anderson, Paul Long, Herbert Gregory, Jimmie Brown and Bobby Frank Wooldridge. Mr. Anderson resided on Houston Star Rt., and was a member of the Thorn Methodist Church. He was born June 4, 1877, the son of the late Solomon Isiah Anderson and Ann J. Lancaster Anderson. He was a retired farmer. His wife, Mrs. Minnie Lee Nabors Anderson died June 23, 1951. He leaves three sons, Roy Anderson of Marks, MS, John Wesley Anderson of West Point, MS and Maurice Anderson of Houston; three daughters, Mrs. Roy Annie Taylor and Mrs. Bruce Brown, both of Houlka and Mrs. L. R. Wooldridge of West Point; five sisters, Mrs. May Hawkins of Derna, Mrs. Clifton McGee of Thorn, Mrs. Walter Blissard of Houston, Mrs. Oscar Griffin of Vardaman and Mrs. B. L. McGee of Thorn. Thirteen grandchildren and 13 great grandchidren also survive.
