Bio

Clea Carroll Hickman, 82, died on March 21, 2009 at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. She was born April 12, 1926 in Tremonton, Utah to Charles Moulton Carroll and Lydia Matilda Katchner Carroll. She married Ernest Grant Hickman on June 16, 1942; later divorced. Clea was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Clea was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many positions within the church. She loved to travel and do crafts of all kinds. She was a beautiful and accomplished seamstress. Clea is survived by: her children, Doug, Colleen (David) Brown, Becky (Bruce) Byxbe, Reese, Randy (Linda), Eileen (Doug) Spencer, Milt (Sandra) Petersen; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Mark (Lena), Willard; sisters-in-law, Marjorie, and Vernice. Preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Kathy Petersen; sister, Nina; brothers, Charlie, Merrill (Harriet), William, LaVar (Verona), DeMar, Neal, Harold (Virgie); sisters-in-law, Thelma Carroll, Dixie Carroll; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bennion Heights Fifth Ward Chapel, 5775 South 2700 West, Taylorsville, Utah. Viewings will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, and at the Church one hour prior to the services. Interment: Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah. Published in the Deseret News from 3/24/2009 - 3/25/2009.
