Minister, Missionary, and Educator for churches of Christ. Born in Limestone County, Texas, Holton attended Sabinal Christian College and Thorp Spring Christian College in Thorp Spring, Texas. His graduate studies were at Texas Christian University and Southern Methodist University where he received a bachelor of divinity degree. He served as president of Thorp Spring Christian College and head of the Bible Chair at the University of Oklahoma. After a lifetime of local preaching including Washington, D.C., he went to Korea. He had particular interest in mission work and church camps. Holton, along with T.W. Brents, founded the Blue Ridge Encampment in 1950. I believe that Holton and his wife conducted the first vacation Bible school among the churches of Christ. Gospel preacher listed in Preachers of Today, Vol. 1, 1952, 166. Article on the life of his wife is in the March 1990 Gospel Advocate, 38-39.
