Margaret Sulak, 91, of West, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, in West. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Margaret was born in Penelope, Texas, to the late Tom A. and Aurelia L. (Orsak) Bartosh. She attended school in Penelope, and was a 1934 graduate of Penelope High School. On Feb. 11, 1942, Margaret was united in marriage to Edward G. "Tony" Sulak in Brownwood. She was a secretary and clerk for Lone Star Gas Co. for over 35 years, before retiring in 1986. She loved to travel, dancing to Czech music and spending time with family and friends. Margaret was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 54, V.F.W. Post #4819 Ladies Auxiliary, McLennan-Hill Czech Heritage Society of Texas, Catholic Daughter of America Court No. 829 and St. Anne Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 2, 1999; and a sister, Lillie Mae Kramolis. Survivors include many nieces and nephews including, John B. Sulak and his wife, Beth, of West, Susan Crain and husband, Jack, of Waco, Steve Sulak and wife, Karen, of Lampasas, and Mary Lechler, of Lorena; and many other relatives and friends.
