SPRINGFIELD - Barbara J. Gansbauer, 70, of Springfield died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center. Barbara was born on August 5, 1938, in New Berlin, the daughter of Earl and Augusta Berndt Lewis. She married Daniel Robert Gansbauer; he preceded her in death in 2007. Barbara was a graduate of Lanphier High School. She was employed as a service desk clerk at Kmart and had previously worked at Martin's tavern. She loved NASCAR and spending time with her family. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; three sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by three sons, Robert (fiancee, Madonna) Gansbauer, Thomas Gansbauer and Jerry Gansbauer, all of Springfield; two daughters, Patty Jo (husband, Robert) Gillespie and Carol Phillips, both of Springfield; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, James and Loran Lewis; a sister, Ruth Jones; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2009, at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 on Monday, March 23, 2009, at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, with Pastor Jon Berg officiating. Burial will follow in Wood Wreath Cemetery, in Island Grove Township, near New Berlin.
