Walter W. Cazier passed away at his home north of Shelbyville last Thursday, Jan. 5, 1939 following a long illness. He had been confined to his bed four weeks. Mr. Cazier was born on Aug. 29, 1871, near Sullivan a son of W. J. and Mary E. Cazier. He lived in Moultrie Co. for many years. He moved to Shelby Co. 21 years ago when he bought the Blackstone farm south of Duval. On March 31, 1918 he was united in marriage to Mary Woods, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Woods of Findlay. To this union three children were born: William Jay, Frances and Mary, all at home. He was very fond of his children, and it was his desire to live to see them educated. All was done that loving hands could do to save him. He leaves his wife and three children; two brothers, John and Edward of Sullivan, and three sisters, Mrs Elizabeth Wallace of Bethany, Mrs. Ida Taylor of near Findlay, and Mrs.Pearl Rhodes of Sullivan. Mr. Cazier was a member of the Shelbyville Church of Christ, moving his membership from Findlay Church two years ago. Funeral services were conducted Saturday in the Church of Christ at Shelbyville, Bro. Holderbam of Indiana officiating. Burial was in Glenwood cemetery. Mrs. Mona Anderson, Mrs. Cora Warren, John Norman, and Ben Perry sang. The pall-bearers were Marvin Cazier, Gerald Cazier, James Rhodes, Theodore Rhodes, George Lofland and Orval Baker. Those in charge of the flowers were: Helen Lichtenwalter, Faye Olmstead, Opal Banks, Enid Durst, Edna Kindt and Neta Lumpp. In the graveyard softly sleeping, Where the flowers softly wave, Lies the one we loved so dearly, And we tried so hard to save.
