Bio
Bobby Ray West, 64, of Allen passed away on Sept. 17 in McKinney. He was born on March 25, 1940 in Denton County to J.W. and Fannie Mae (Mathison) West. He married Gwendolyn Turner on Dec. 31, 1955, in Iowa Park. He was a concrete contractor and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn West of McKinney; daughters, Becky Gunter and husband, Billy also of McKinney and Penny Blackwell of Wylie; sons, Bobby Wayne West and wife, Lisa of Garland, and Billy West and wife, Traci also of Garland; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and 12 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Earl West. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 19, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Green Valley Cemetery in Aubrey. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
