Bio

Haskell Free Press Friday, January 26, 1923 Ms. W.S. Caragan, one of the best known and best loved women of the south section of the county, died very suddenly Tuesday night at 8:30 o'clock at her home in the Post community. She was 43 years old and had been in seemingly good health, and we are told on the night of her death that she had cooked the evening meal and ate with the family and had written a letter to some friend or relative and had sat down upon the side of her bed to take down her hair for the night when she became suddenly ill and soon passed to the home of the blessed. In the death of this good woman a true mother has laid down life's burdens to enter into the joys of her Lord. She was kind, gentle, hospitable, companionable and helpful. Every neighbor loved her and every friend adored her. Her life's work was spent caring for her family and we know that her reward is great. She is survived by her husband and 8 children. The funeral was held by Rev. Leon Cambreil of this city, at Howard, Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, after which her remains were laid to rest at the cemetery of Howard.
