Bio

Mrs. Robert Thomazin Dies-- Mrs. Robert H. Thomazin, 46, member of one of the pioneer families of the O'Kay neighborhood and a resident of Columbus the last year, passed away at her home at 2215 Nineteenth street, at 2:15 p.m. yesterday. She had been ill for several months, but had been bedfast only 17 days. Death was due to cancer. As Mamie Belle Ericson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ericson, she was born on a farm in O'Kay neighborhood on Oct. 20, 1887. There she spent her girlhood and attended the O'Kay school and church. On Nov. 7, 1910, she was united in marriage to Robert H. Thomazin, also a member of one of the pioneer families of the county, in Columbus. They established their home on a farm in the West Hill neighborhood, residing in that community until they moved into Columbus a year ago. Mrs. Thomazin was an active member of the West Hill Methodist church throughout that period. She is survived by her husband and seven children, Delryn, Mae, Edna, Elva, Marilynn and Bonnebess, all at home, and Mrs. Kenneth Taddiken of Shelby; one grandchild Joe Ann Taddiken; her aged mother, Mrs. John Ericson, of O'Kay; six sisters, Mrs. Chas. Cave of Scobry, Mont., Mrs. Anton Alfreds, of Scottsbluffs, Mrs. Chas. McCome, of Grand Island, Mrs. Henry Justice, of Albion, Mrs. Dewey Hughes, of Boone, Mrs. Paul Cochran, of Omaha, and four brothers, Edward, Eric, George and Theodore, all residing near Genoa. Funeral services, preceded by a brief prayer service at the family home here, will be held at the West Hill Methodist church at 8 p.m. Friday. Rev. G. W. Snyder, pastor of the Methodist church here, will officiate. Burial will be made in the West Hill cemetery.
