Bio

From Nebraska Biene Gerhardt Borchers, our brother, was shot on Oct. 31, in the morning around 9 o'clock by his 14 year old stepson, with help from the 12 year old stepson. They burned the body in a haystack. Only a few bones and a foot were found. His wife had died about a year earlier. Our brother was a good man. He was a religious person, peaceful, he had room for himself as well as Jesus in his life. He lived a full life. Through a ten year marriage he had 6 children, from which 3 have died. From the ones still living, one is just a little over a year old. In spite of all his trials in life, he kept his faith in God. A brother from the surviving 2 brothers and a sister, and other relatives have been taking care of the 2 youngest children, so that the children are well cared for. The stepsons face a severe penalty. Gerhardt came to this country in 1886, and came into our community in 1889. He was born in Hengstforde, Germany on Dec. 21, 1848 and he reached 53 years 10 months and 10 days upon his death. We are deeply saddened by his departure.
