Laura Alice Ashton Clements, age 70 of American Fork, Utah died Dec. 13, 1990, at the American Fork Hospital of heart failure. She was born March 20, 1921*, in Lehi, a daughter of Warren and Mary Ellen Baker Ashton. She married William LaMar Clements Aug. 9, 1937, in American Fork. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 25, 1985. She was a homemaker and member of the LDS Church where she served in genealogy, as Primary president and as a Relief Society visiting teacher. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and had been a pink lady at the American Fork Hospital for several years, having served as president of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons and three daughters: Larry L. Clements, Pleasant Grove; Joel W. Clements, American Fork; Mrs. Dale (Mary Ellen) Spencer, Kanab; Mrs. Ken (Thyra) Durrant, and Mrs. Kent (Julia) Flowers, both of Orem; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Ashton, Escondido, Calif. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 17, in the American Fork 6th Ward LDS Chapel. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. [* Funeral service program reads that she was born in 1920]
