In July 1933, Dalbert Aposhian, a minister's son, went missing. Son of George and Auda Sellers Aposhian. After six days, his body was found floating in the ocean by several sailors. Investigators found out from one of Dalbert's friends that they had decided to go fishing that day at Broadway Pier. There little Dalbert slipped and fell into the water. His 10-year-old friend panicked and ran away. Still, the death was considered a homicide and was an open case for 70 years until 2005, when forensic science revealed the cause of death to have been accidental drowning. One of the oldest cases in San Diego is now officially closed. Dalbert was 7 years old at the time of his death. At the time of his death he was survived by his parents, who went to their graves believing their son had been murdered. His brother Van, 18 months old at the time, is now in his early 90s. Dalbert gained a sister and another brother after his passing. Both are now deceased. Rest In Peace Dalbert.
