Bio

Mother Was: Mary Magdalene "Polly" (Belle) Owens Margaret Elizabeth Bell Long (1855-1931) and Leonard Long had nine children: four died as small children. After Leonard died she brought the children to Wilmer, Texas (about 3 miles East of Lancaster) in 1888. She married Mr. Holloway, whose son Finis Holloway had a broom factory in Lancaster. Mr. Holloway and Margaret had one son, William Claude Holloway, DOB: 12/15/1890 . After Mr. Holloway's death, Margaret married Judge Horace England and they had three daughters, Bertha 1893, Rachel 1894 and Ethel England. Margaret began to operate the hotel on State Street (probably the Moffett Hotel) and while there, Rachel fell down the stairs and died. The daughter of Margaret Long and Leonard Long, Mary Lydia Long, married John D. Whaley.
