Bio

Effie was the daughter of George and Sallie Maustin Green. Seymour, TX Mrs. Effie Sturgeon, 72, died Friday in a Seymour hospital. Services will be 2p.m. Sunday in Seymour Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Tigert, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, and the Rev. Lloyd McIntosh, pastor of First Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be in Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Sturgeon was born July 29, 1908 in Paris, Texas, and has lived in Baylor County 52 years. She was a Baptist. She is survived by her husband, M.C.; five sons, Hollis, James, Harley, Clovis and Wallace; six daughters, Mabel Norwood, Wanda Lewis, Evelina Carlock, Barbara Parker, Joyce Knox and Peggy Forootan; a brother Ed Powell; three sisters, Annie Sparks and Leda Pennington and Goldy Howard; 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
