Bio

Frank John Downey was the son of Michael Downey and Jane Burnam Downey. Frank was born in 1871, in Missouri. The 1880 census shows him living with his parents in Hardin, Clinton County, Missouri. He married Mary Elizabeth Gleeson on 22 Apr 1908, recorded in Sedgwick County, Kansas. The 1910 census shows Frank and Mary, with 2 year old son Martin, living in Sedgwick County, Kansas. By the time the 1920 census was taken, they were living in Carlington, Canadian County, Oklahoma. The 1930 census shows them in Colorado Springs, CO, where they spent the rest of their lives. Frank and Mary had 4 sons; Martin J Downey (see below), Emmett Francis Downey (see below), John Thomas Downey (cremated in Oregon, 1989), and James Gleeson Downey (died 1985 in Napa, CA).
