S/S Henry Janak
Daughter of Dillard (Oct 1886, TX) & Minnie A. (Dec 1892, AR) 1920-1930 Polk Co. Her father was a widower in 1930. Born TX Edited Obituary: Martha Mae Youngblood Janak (93) entered the gates of Heaven to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 12, 2011. Matthew 11: 28 "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden and over burdened, and I will cause you to rest-I will ease and relieve and refresh your soul". She was born March 14, 1918 at Bedford, Texas. She wants all to remember her with love and laughter as that is the way she will remember us. She doesn't want us to cry or be sad. She loved to talk about the " good old days", what fun she and her brothers and sisters had as children. How hard some of the days were during the Depression, All the changes she has seen over the years and the progress from mules and wagons to automobiles and air planes, from cooking on a wood stove to a gas stove, from having an outhouse to indoor bathroom, from coal oil lamps to electric lights, from a wash tub and rub board to an electric washing machine. How simple but hard life was in those days, families helping each other whether it was bringing in corps or enjoying Sunday lunch with friends and family. Martha and her husband and children moved to Mathis, Texas from East Texas in 1949. She was a homemaker and worked part time at Heider's Café. "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord". Martha became a member of the First Baptist Church in 1949. She was very active in the Lydia Sunday School, WMU, and served on several church committees, President several times of the Friends United and a member of the Women's Professional Club. She touched the lives of many people ministering to others through her faith and love of God. Her family and friends brought her such joy and she relished every minute with them. No one that ever came to her home ever went away hungry; she always had something cooking on the stove or baking in the oven. For the past three years she lived at the Villa Northwest in Corpus Christi, Texas. Over the years she enjoyed playing Canasta with her dear friends Gladys, Olga and Carrie. She also spent lots of hours playing dominos and watching baseball with her friends at the Villa. We love her, and will miss her. We rejoice that she is finally home. She is preceded in death by her parents Dillard and Artie Minnie Youngblood, her husband of 60 years Henry Janak. Five brothers, Steve, Jake, DJ, Johnny and Rufus Youngblood. Three sisters, Helen Maxey, Mary Lou Lewis, Jennette Fisher Stanley. One great grandson Robbie Crandall. She is survived by two sons, Bill (Sherry) Janak, Glyn (Winnie) Janak.
