Bio
Hilda Rose Ischy, 96, lifetime resident of Austin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Hill Country Care in Dripping Springs. She was born July 25, 1915 to Erin Kyle and Edward Doremus Walker and married Euel Phillip Ischy in 1941. She attended Austin High School and made raising four children her life work. She later worked for the IRS and continued working at part-time jobs until the age of 85. She enjoyed bowling and loved watching sports, especially baseball. Her husband of 27 years, Euel, preceded her in death in 1968. She is also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Edward Walker. She is survived by her children, Edward Ischy and wife, Cynthia, of Sugar Land; Mike Ischy of Houston; Margaret Pargin and husband Scott, of Austin, David Ischy, formerly of Austin and five grandchildren, Emily Pargin Depena and Benjamin Pargin of Austin, Craig Ischy of Houston, Samantha Ischy Kohler of Austin, and Kyle Kramer of Pearland. Dr. Ken Baldwin will conduct the service at Cook Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home Wednesday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Austin Memorial Park.
