Penelope Gill Harris was the daughter of Henry Simeon Gill, born 1815 Mississippi, who married Jane Drummonds in 1835 in Mississippi. Penelope was from Rankin County, Mississippi. She married Henson Henry Harris on October 29, 1855. They had the following known children: Henry James Harris John Green Harris Martha Harris George Pearce Harris Thomas Hinds Harris Hiram S.
