Gravesite details

While living in Pennsylvania, John served with the Union Navy during the Civil War. He took the place of another man who had two children. He is the only Civil War Veteran buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Bio

John was born in Koblenz, Germany. He came to America with his brother Bill in 1848 and settled in Pennsylvania. He met and married Catherine Vogel there. He moved to Muenster with his family.
