Bio

Joseph Vernon Veach, 86, of Waco, passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at St. Catherine's Center. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at OakCrest Funeral Home. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown during the visitation and at the service. Joe was born in Tulsa, Okla., to the late Virgil and Tessie Smith Veach. He married Angeline Volcik on Jan. 29, 1944, in West. Joe served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II, and then lived in Waco for 62 years. He worked as a purchasing manager for R. M. Crow for 47 years. He was a member of West Brethren Church in West. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sissy. Joe is survived by his wife of 65 years, Angeline; daughter, Judy Haug and husband, Wayne, of Waco; grandchildren, Jerry Haug and wife, Julia, of Round Rock, Cindy Prachyl and husband, Lonnie and DeeDee Forget and husband, Robert, all of Waco; great-grandchildren, Jonas Haug, of Round Rock, Steven Bostick, Hunter McBroom and Matthew McBroom, all of Waco; brother, Frankie Veach and wife, Marie, of Tulsa, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
