John 'Jack' Nelson EDENS II, son of John Nelson & Sarah EDENS of SC, was born on 27 Jul 1879 in Bennettsville, Marlboro Co., SC. He died in 09 Feb 1967 in Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS. He was buried in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS. John married Anita WALKER daughter of Dr. John Henry WALKER and Elizabeth Magdalen 'Lizzie' FAHEY of LA, estimated 1912 in probably Austin, Travis Co., TX. Anita was born on 26 Jul 1891 in St. Landry Ph., LA. She died on 8 May 1976 in Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS. She was buried in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS. EDENS John Nelson Edens, 87, of 215 S. Chautauqua, resident 37 years, died Thursday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of which he was a member. A Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born at Bennettsville, S.C., and came here from Birmingham, Ala. He was a retired paint contractor. Survivors include his widow, Anita; two sons, Jack, and Charles,, of Wichita; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Root and Mrs. Nadaline O'Donnell, of Wichita, and Mrs. Martha Hesson, Pleasant Shade, Tenn.; two brothers, Charles, St. Stephen, S.C., and Frank, Sugar Valley, Ga.; and three sisters, Mrs. Lora Keller and Mrs. Kate Reynolds, of Charleston, S.C., and Mrs. Mary Mims, Camden S.C. ***************************** From: The Wichita Eagle Saturday, February 11, 1967 Funeral Notices EDENS – John N., Sr., age 87, of 215 S. There will be a recitation of Rosary in Our Chapel of Memories Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary at 8 p.m. Friday. The final resting place will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
