Bio
Nellie's mother was Emilla "Millie" Coker Swanner, 2nd wife of Joshua Swanner. No further information on Millie. Nellie was married 1st to Britton McHenry before 1870 in Pike Co. Alabama. She married 2nd to Adam Shows Dec 6, 1877 in La. Nellie & Adam had a 4th child, Winnie Eller Shows born Aug 27, 1884, died Sep 4, 1991. Eller is thought to be buried in an unmarked grave near her parents in Zion Rest Cemetery. Nellie & Adam also raised their grand daughter Minnie Elmar Tullos Coleman. They provided a home for Adam's aunt, Vicy Clark; for Nellie's father, Joshua Swanner, and Nellie's unmarried sister, Molly Swanner. Nellie & her husband both died from pneumonia 1 week apart.
