Bio

Muriel Myers Uptigrove, 71, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday January 27, 2009, at Oak Park Doctor's Care. She worked for many years as a CNA at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital and St. Patrick's Hospital in OB and the nursery. She also worked for Fireside Insurance at Hixon's Funeral Home and as secretary at Ralph Prejean Realty. She is survived by two daughters, Gayleen Duhon and husband Chester of Moss Bluff and Jeanine Uptigrove of Ardmore, Oklahoma; son Brent Uptigrove and wife Melissa of Reeves; twin sister Myrtis Mueller and Don of Moss Bluff; five grandchildren, Michelle Richard and husband Arnold; Audrey Stelly and husband Jonathan; Ginger Trahan and husband Robby; Brandon Uptigrove; and Ashly Shirley and husband Shane. eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband William Thomas Uptigrove; parents, J.M. and Lena Parker Myers; sister Nellie Huval; and grandson, Patrick Hadley.
