AUSTIN -- The funeral for Marie White will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Jeffrey Forbes officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Mrs. White, 99, of Austin, died Friday (Feb. 6, 2009) at St. Mark's Lutheran Home. Marie Brinkman was born May 14, 1909, in Kesley, Iowa, where she attended country school. She married Delbert Lionel White on Jan. 20, 1931, in Dumont, Iowa. They resided in Kesley, Dumont and Greene, Iowa, before moving to Austin. Mrs. White was a homemaker and a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing piano and guitar, was an animal lover, and loved spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Gene (Jean) and Ronald, both of Austin; five grandchildren, Connie Jensen of Faribault, Minn., Marjorie (Robert) Stoffer of Chanhassen, Minn., Michael (Rose) White of Winnebago, Minn., Jamie White of Rochester and Mark (Lisa) White of Owatonna; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Eddy Brinkman of Marshalltown, Iowa; and a nephew, Edward (Barbara) Brinkman of Aredale, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Charles. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church. The family prefers memorials to Grace Lutheran Church. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary of Austin is in charge of arrangements.
