Mary (Maria) Ledford and Stephen Haden Hicks were married 23 Oct 1833 in Haywood County, NC. ******** Mary Ledford-Hicks, Grave # 381, was originally buried in the Old Aquone Cemetery, her remains were move to this cemetery. All the deceased who were buried in Old Aquone Cemetery were moved to various cemeteries and the land was covered with water from Nantahala Lake by the summer of 1942. Her granddaughter Julie Hicks-Patterson of Waynesville, NC., was the relative in charge of the re-burial.
