Bio

Jesse Erban Franklin, 90, of Linn Creek died Tuesday, December 5, 1995 at his home. He was born August 17, 1905 in Camden County to Leonard and Ava Anderson Franklin. On October 23, 1926 he was married to Amanda Rhoades, who died in March, 1946. On April 9, 1947 he was married in Fort Scott, Kansas to Irene McDowell Holzer, who survives at the home. Mr. Franklin worked for ASCS as a field reporter until 1960 when he became manager of the Camden County office. In 1967 he became manager of both Camden and Hickory counties and continued working in that capacity until his retirement in 1975. He was a lifelong resident of Camden, County and also was a farmer. He was a member of Freedom Church of Christ at Linn Creek. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Jerline Cox of St.Louis, Rebecca McLaughlin of Ocala, Florida and Denise Temple of Camdenton; eight brothers, Jewell Franklin, Clarence Franklin, James Franklin and Lee Franklin, all of Linn Creek, Otto Franklin of Oak Grove, Glavin Franklin of Buffalo, Ivan Franklin of Pleasant Hill and Richard Franklin of Richland; four sisters, Donna Harlin of Buffalo, Bessie Dickerson of Raymore, Edith Sullen of Los An geles and Ruth Burdett of Linn Creek, nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home in Camdenton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hedges Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Pitts officiating, assisted by the Rev. Frank Ragg. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery.
