James Darst, age 85, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2006 in Ennis, Texas. He was born on June 20, 1920 in Terrell, Texas to James and Hazel (Payne) Darst. He graduated from Terrell High School and served as a Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II from 1941 until 1945. He then attended and graduated from Chiropractic School in San Antonio. James married Mary Alice Ingley in August 1946 in Terrell; she preceded him in death on May 22, 1967. Later he married Emily Sonka Doctuer in 1969 in Ennis; she preceded him in death on January 27, 2003. James was a member of St. John Catholic Church. He loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. Survivors include his 7 children and their spouses; three step-children; one brother, Tom Darst from Houston, sixteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by step-son Ron L. Docteur. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10: A.M. on Monday, May 15, 2006 at St. John Catholic Church with Father Edison Vela as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Terrell, Texas. The family will receive friends at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, 800 S. Kaufman, Ennis, Texas. 972-878-2211.
