The Pleasant Grove Review, Pleasant Grove, Utah, 31 Aug 1951 Touching and impressive funeral rites were conducted Saturday for Betrand Kirk, in the Second ward L.D. S. Chapel, which was well filled with relatives and friends, who came to pay tribute to the memory of the departed and express sympathy for his family. The service began at 1 o'clock with. Bishop E. M. Williams in charge. Warren P. Kirk, accompanied by Mrs. Kirk, sang the opening number, "In the Garden." Jos. Ash, a brother-in-law offered the invocation. Bishop Lynn Cullimore of Bountiful, a life long friend of Mr. Kirk was the first speaker, who after paying tribute to the memory of his boyhood pal, spoke of eternal truths and stressed the thought, "Out of the Mercy of God He Created Death." Bishop Williams in his talk paid tribute to Mr. Kirk as a veteran of World War II, and of the promises made by the Father to those who keep the faith. Interspersing the speakers was a violin solo "Resignation" played by Elaine Brimley, accompanied by Mrs. Kirk. The closing solo, "Going Home," was sung by Warren Kirk, accompanied by Mrs. Kirk. Prelude and postlude organ music was played by Mrs. J. Howard Nelson. Benediction was pronounced by Howard Brown, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by S. A.
