Bio
Elizabeth McClain was the daughter of John and Rachel (Morgan) McClain. Elizabeth married Hugh Rodman on August 24, 1809 in Shelby County, Kentucky. About 1815 Hugh and Elizabeth moved to Washington County, Indiana. Note that Elizabeth's date of death (1873) does not match her tombstone (1874). I have added Elizabeth's obituary which was published in the June 1873 Salem (IN) Democrat. "This woman is a relative of mine and I show that her parents were John McClain and Rachel Morgan (1759-1829) of Shelby, Kentucky. I tried many different spellings of McClain/McLane/McClane/Mc Clain/Mc Lane/Mc Clane with no success, but you may wish to list her parents in case other relatives are seeking her in the future or their grave sites are located.
