Bio

Daughter of Mathew & Katherine (Luchsinger) Schmid. Grace attended District 44 and graduated from Columbus High School. A graduate of the University of Nebraska, she took graduate and specialized work at the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota and Burre School of Business, the University of Colorado Graduate and Medical School and the University of Wyoming. Grace was the oldest living graduate of the University of Nebraska. Professionally, she worked as an administrative social worker, combined with business training and investment management in western intermountain states. She was active in professional, business and social organizations and traveled extensively during her lifetime. In 1968, she purchased the apartment property at 14th street and 28th avenue and retained ownership of the Schmid Apartments since that time. Grace is survived by: Nephew - Len J. (Sandy) Fleischer of Tulsa, OK Nephew - Mathew "Bud" (Rita) Fleischer of Columbus, NE Nephew - Bill (Gret) Fleischer of Vail, CO Niece - Ione Perkins of Sioux Falls, SD Grace was preceded in death by: Brother and Sister-in-law - Walter A. and Alwine Schmid Sisters - Ruth Fleischer and Florence Schmid Nieces - Evelyn Abegglen, Marilyn Brandfas, and Jean Price
