http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~neplatte/vitals/vitals1969.html The Daily Telegram, December 9, 1969 BRANDENBURGH--Brandenburgh rites scheduled Thursday Funeral rites are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bellwood Methodist Church for Mrs. Alice Brandenburgh, 96, who died Monday at Columbus Manor. The Rev. Carroll Prouty will officiate, with burial in Bellwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Gass Funeral home from 2 p.m. Wednesday until time of the funeral, and prayer service will be held there at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Wright, she was born July 9, 1873 at Golden City, Mo., where she attended public school. She was married to William Brandenburgh on May 22, 1892 at Golden City and they came to this area in a covered wagon the following year. She had since lived in the Bellwood and Columbus vicinity. She was a member of the Bellwood Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are two sons, William A. of Columbus and Lemuel of Bellwood; three daughters, Mrs. Versa Wicker of Denver, Mrs. Vern Fox of Columbus and Mrs. Paul (Eva) Neal of Cypress, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Macy of Miami City, Okla.; one brother, Jesse Wright of Golden City, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Ora; two brothers, John and Jim Wright; two sisters, Julia Miller and Florence Garbers. Carroll Prouty Thursday afternoon at Bellwood Methodist Church. Burial was in the Bellwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Orsie Adams, Paul Bykerk, Jack Selzer, Harry Wilson, Don Mares and Delmar Ahrens.
