Bio

Mrs. Lillie Benys, 80, of Route 1, died at 11:20 a.m. yesterday in a local hospital after a short illness. She moved here 22 years ago from Schulenburg, where she was born. Surviving are four sons, Ben, Victor and L. A., all of Corpus Christi, and Robert of Yoakum; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Vaclavik and Mrs. J. B. Jurach, both of Corpus Christi; a sister, Mrs. Mary Vacek of San Antonio; a brother, Emil Mladenka of Schulenburg; 19 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today in the Clifford Jackson Funeral Chapel. Requiem Mass will be at 9:30 tomorrow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. A. Schandonnet, pastor, as celebrant. The body will be sent to Yoakum immediately after services here. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the Buffington Funeral Chapel at Yoakum. Funeral mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Ann’s Catholic Church there. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Benys’ 10 grandsons. Mrs. Benys was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Yoakum court; the Altar Society at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and the KJZT Lodge.
