Bio

Rapid City Journal , April 30, 1953, Page 2. via Newspapers.com Isaac E. Doty Rites Held At Veteran's Chapel HOT SPRINGS - Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Veterans Center Chapel for Isaac E. Doty, 68, who died at the Veteran Hospital April 22. Chaplain St Clair Vannix officiated at the rites, and music was provided by H.R. Woodward, soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Caryl Solberg. Interment was in the Black Hills National Cemetery with military rites. Doty was born March 24, 1887, at Jamesport, Mo, and had lived here for several years, employed as an orderly at the VA Hosptial. Doty is survived by a brother, Dr. F. H. Doty of, Lawrence, Kan., and a sister, Mrs. C. P. Bird of Bakersfield, Calif, who were present for the rites. Note for Father, Mother left by S.Frazier Isaac Edward Doty was the son of William Henry Doty & Virginia Martha "Mattie" McClure. His mother died in 1898 and I believe his father died prior to 1900 as well (I can find no records for him after the 1880 census). After their death, Isaac was residing with his Great Uncle & Aunt (Daniel L. Doty & Mary Miller). In census records he is listed as their son, but he was their Great Nephew. The following sources show that Isaac's parents were William H. & Martha V / Mattie McClure: Missouri Birth Register, Montana County Marriage Records, and Social Security Applications and Claims. Isaac's obituary lists survivors as siblings: C. P. Bird and F. H. Doty (children of William & Martha).
