Parents: Rex & Vivian Till Marriage: Vivian M. Hayes Occupation: Machinist at PSNS Military service: U.S. Navy 1944-1946. Memember of the VFW District #4 Honor Guard Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity for 30 years. Survived by eight living children, three brothers, 28 grandchildren & 45 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Verna; two sons, Samuel Till and David Till; and one son-in-law, Randy Dalton. Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard at 1 p.m. Jan. 23, 2009. ________________________________________________ WORLD WAR II VETERAN Obituary for David Till, David G. Till, Sr., 83, died at home in Lakebay January 18, 2009. He was born February 6, 1925 in Sargent, NE to Rex & Vivian Till. He married Verna M. Hayes who preceded him in death after 50 years of marriage. David earned his HS diploma at 70 years old. David worked for 25 years as a Machinist at PSNS. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of VFW District #4 Honor Guard. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for 30 years, helping to build over 100 homes. He was a gifted builder & carpenter and enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. He loved the Lord Jesus and had a strong faith in God. Surviving are children Marie (Clem) Bonificio, Verna Ann (Ray) Wilson, Dorothy Till (Darren Olehy), Paul (Wendy) Till, Theresa Dalton, Barbara (Tony) Butler, John (Kerri) Till, & Tom (Lori) Till; brothers Milton (Imogene) Till, Ron (Colleen) Till & Delmar Till; 28 grandchildren & 45 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by sons Samuel & David Till & son-in-law Randy Dalton. Funeral Mass 1:00 pm, January 23rd at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard with burial following at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
