"Opal V. Asche, 85, a resident of Shelton, died of natural causes Friday, Dec. 30, 1988, in Fir Lane Terrace Convalescent Center, Shelton. She was born May 27, 1903, in Aitkin County, Minn., and grew up in North Dakota. Mrs. Asche taught school in Ellendale, N.D. On May 26, 1922, she was married to Louis Asche. Three years later, the family moved to Seattle. In 1937, they moved to Shelton. Mrs. Asche was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and the Matlock Grange. Surviving, besides her husband of the family home, are two sons, Winston L., and Jesse G., both of Shelton; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A son, Donald, died Aug. 15, 1945. The funeral service for Mrs. Asche will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, in McComb and Batstone Funeral Home, Shelton. The Rev. Kenneth Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Shelton Memorial Park." The Olympian (Olympia, Washington), January 1, 1989
