Lyla R. Needles Feb. 13, 1933 ¬~ Jan. 6, 2009 Lyla R. Needles, 75, of Denton passed away Jan. 6 at Denton Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 13, 1933 in Pleasant Valley, Texas to William and Nellie (Heffington) Rushing. She married Allan Needles on April 18, 1952 in Marble Falls. She was a sales person in the clothing industry. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Allan of 56 years; daughter Kellye Church and son-in-law Don of Pilot Point; son Allan Needles II and daughter-in-law Lynn of Arlington; and grandchildren Matthew and Marissa Needles and Amanda and Jordan Church. Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9 at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz Son Chapel, 705 North Locust St., Denton, TXs 76201. Rev. Jim Terry will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 – 6 PM, prior to the service. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at Smithwick Cemetery, Smithwick. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a local animal rescue of choice.
