Bio

Mrs. Gillie Clay, 87 years old, at 501 North 16th Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Thursday night, October 24, 1963 in a local Rest Home after a long illness. She was athe widow of John W. Clay, Sr, and a lifelong resident of Crawford and Sebastian counties. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Jenny Lind. Survivors are six sons, Henry, Wesley, Stanley, Grady, Hugh, and Claude; two daughters, Mrs. L. Winn of Oklahoma City and Mrs. F. Pearson of Fort Smith; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Edwards Funeral chapel with Ed Dunlap officiating. Burial was at Old Jenny Lind cemetery.
