Bio

Opal Lucille Calver, 83, of Cerro Gordo died 1:30 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 2, 1993) in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Brintlinger's Cerro Gordo Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before service time. Burial will be in Marrowbone Township Cemetery, Bethany. Mrs. Calver was born Dec. 21, 1909, in Shelby County, daughter of William Lester and Zetta Fern Beck Younger. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Bethany. She retired from GTE and had also been employed by H&R Block. She was a member of the Cerro Gordo American Legion Auxiliary, Auxiliary 40 and 8, Royal Neighbors, Rebekah Lodge, Piatt County Past Noble Grands and was past district 18 an 19 president. She married Hubert M "Bob" Calver in 1959. He preceded her in death in 1986. Surviving are her nephew, Michael E. Younger of Glenwood and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Harold. Obit: 12-4-1993, Decatur Herald & Review Newspaper.
