Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 12, in the Providence Baptist Church, with the Revs. Charles Best, and Devere Sampson, and John Littleton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, under the direction of Hixon Funeral Home. Surviving are three sons, David James of Florien, Sammy James, and Mitchell James of Rosepine; four daughters, Mrs. Linda Bates, Mrs. Velda Willis, and Miss Michelle James, all of Rosepine, and Mrs. Nancy Kay of Leesville; two brothers, Lloyd James of Lamarque, Tex., and Homer James of Rosepine; two sisters, Mrs. Mertie Deason, and Mrs. Verna Cooper, both of Rosepine, and 11 grandchildren.
