Bio
Owen Asbury Newlan was the son of William Newlan and Rachel Funk Newlan. He was married first to Sarah J. Nye and second to Maria Lavina Sanders who had been married first to Henry Bollinger. He was preceded in death by brothers, Francis Marion Newlan and Eligah Newlan and three sisters, Margaret Bragg, Barbara Raper and Catherine Kennard. He was survived by a brother, Joseph Newlan and two sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Raper and husband Noah, and Rachel Ellen Pea and husband Thomas. Owen and Sarah Nye had four children; Elmer, Joseph Marion, Oliver Albert, and William. Owen and Maria had children; Ellen (Mrs. Robert Wilson), Pleasant, Cora Pearle (Mrs. Worthington Olds), Kathryn Lavina (Mrs. Loren Jennings), Francis C., and Etta Flossie or Flossie E. (Mrs. Carroll Mundy). His son, Pleasant J. Newlan, died in Twin Falls, Idaho, in May of l972 according to SSA.
