Published in the Athens Review February 2, 1939 Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon for Little Jackie Marie Blakeney, five weeks old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Blakeney of the Oakland community. The baby died at 3 o'clock Thursday morning following a brief illness with pneumonia. The child's death was the first in the immediate family. Surviving are the parents and nine brothers and sisters. Mrs. Jap Lucas of Athens is a sister of the deceased. She and Mr. Lucas were among those attending the funeral. The services were conducted by Rev. J.L. Brantley, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Malakoff. Interment was in the Malakoff-Oakland cemetery.
