Graveside services for Jessie W. Johnson, 89, of Brenham, Texas were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2005 in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cravens, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, June 7, in his residence in Brenham. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leazeme Carol and Rose James Johnson; a brother and a sister. He is survived by his wife Maxine Jurgensen Johnson of Brenham; son Jack Prince of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; stepdaughter, Marsha Lee Dodd of Los Angeles; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one sister, Addie Johnson of Splendora, Texas. ==== Jessie W. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 11, and from 8 a.m. -noon on Sunday at the funeral home.Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, June 7, in his residence in Brenham. He was a native of the Cravens/Pitkin-Vernon Parish area and had lived in Brenham, Texas area for the past 11 years. He had operated heavy equipment and was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran.He was preceded in death by his parents, Leazeme Carol and Rose James Johnson; a brother and a sister.
