John married, 20 Nov 1901, Amber Pearl Lord, a daughter of Chesley Gabriel Lord and Nancy Adeline Cottle. Father of Linnie Ola, Myrtle Ella, Ruby Mae, Thomas Irene, Roy, Ruth, Hazel, John Thomas "Jake" Jr, Ellen, Dorothy Alice, Jack Neal and Clarence David Gray.
