Clares L. "Bill" James, 89, of Bruce, Miss died Friday, December 05, 2008, at North Miss Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, where services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 7th. Bro. Darrell Logan and Dr. Buford Usry will officiate. Burial will be in Bruce Cemetery. He was born February 03, 1919 in Calhoun County, Miss, the Son of Robert Wash James and Eva Bennett James. He was the Widower of Grace Lorette Moorman "Bootsie" James. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He retired from Memphis Hardwood and was a Member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include 2 Sons, Jerry C. James and Wife, Robin, of Bruce and Larry Joe James of Coffeeville; 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren He also was preceded in death by his Sisters, Dannie Rue Blaylock and Flora Gables; and 6 Brothers, Ruble, Farris, D.B., Trenton, Clinton and Dennis James. Pallbearers will be Tony Easley, Scott Starks, Sammy Blaylock, William Blaylock, Steve James, Billy Ray James, Buddy James and Wade Clark.
