Bio

Royal David Price, 90, of Muskogee, passed from this life to his new life on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. He was born April 15, 1918 in Farmersville, Texas the son of Artie and Lola Price. Royal married Wilma Hester Thomas on July 26, 1941. Four children were born to this union. Royal was a farmer and worked as a LVN at the Veterans Hospital. Royal entered the U.S. Army on June 3, 1943 during World War II and served until December 23, 1945. He was 32 degree Mason and was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church for 45 years. Royal was a dedicated husband and father. He had a beautiful since of humor, was an avid collector of knives and swords and was known to many as "The Knife Man". He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and one grandson. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Price, of Muskogee; children, Ruby Mora, Wanda Huggins, Carol Hicks, and Lanney Price; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Willie and Eugene Price and many friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Crow officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Duke, Mark Duke, Scott Price, David Price, Willie Price, Jr. and Dale Littrell. Honorary pallbearers are Lloyd McCarty, Jack Waymier and Raymond Williams. Masonic services will be presented at the graveside by members of the Masonic Lodge. Military honors will be presented at the graveside by members of the U. S. Army Honor Guard, Ft. Sill, OK. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home. Royal David Price married Geneva B. Scalf in 1936. They had one child, Charlsie Carol Price.
