Daughter of Alfred & Louisa (Schumacher) Hittner. Married to: 1. Edward J. Jasper on 5-6-1941 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cornlea, NE. Killed in WW II in Germany on 7-4-1945. 2. John A. Dieter on 10-10-1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cornlea, NE. ———————- NEWMAN GROVE - Marcella Magdalene Dieter, 96, of Newman Grove, formerly of Humphrey, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey with Father Tom Bauwens officiating. Interment is in Sacred Hart Cemetery in Cornlea. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today with a 3 p.m. Christian Mothers Rosary and 7 p.m. scripture and rosary, and continues 8-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, all at Duesman Funeral Chapel. Marcella was born July 11, 1912, in Cornlea to Alfred Hittner and Louisa Schumacher. She received her education at Sacred Heart School in Cornlea. On May 6, 1941, she married Edward J. Jasper at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cornlea. Edward was a member of the U.S. Army in WWII and was killed in Germany on July 4, 1945. She married John A. Dieter on Oct. 10, 1951, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cornlea. She was a homemaker and lived most of her life on the family farm south of Cornlea. She became a resident of the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in February 1999. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey, a member of the Christian Mothers Society and St. Francis Quilters Club. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She is survived by cousins. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Edward Jasper and John Dieter; and half brother, Ray Meyers. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice, family's choice or to St. Francis Endowments.
